Coaches Mark Tackett and Brian Moncrief led the U12 Bucks basketball team (pictured) to the Bellaire Recreation Center championship. The Bucks defeated the Lakers 18-11 in the championship game, which was the third meeting of the Bucks and Lakers this season. The Bucks won their first regular-season matchup, but the Lakers were victorious in the second game, which was the Bucks’ only loss of the season. The coaches’ goal was to teach basketball strategy and get these girls ready for junior high school tryouts. The victorious Bucks are (from left) Tackett, Rachel Gilmore, Maisie Moncrief, Lucy Bannerman, Suria Mehta, Jordan Muscal, Eloise Tackett and Moncrief.
