The 2019 Houston Symphony Wine Dinner & Collector’s Auction: An Evening with Great Composers, at The Astorian, was attended by a sell-out crowd of more than 300. Chairs were Catherine and Brian James, and auction chair was Bob Weiner. The Collector’s Auction Committee included Ann and Jonathan Ayre; Dr. Devinder Bhatia; Christine Falgout and Bill Gutknecht; Darlene Clark and Edwin Fredrichs; Valerie and Tracy Dieterich; Maureen Y. Higdon; Ron Holley; Dr. I. Ray. Kirk; David Massin; Kusum and Cody Patel; Helen and Jim Shaffer; Tom Nichols, Emeritus; and Robert Sakowitz, Emeritus. The event raised more than $550,000 for educational and community activities of the Houston Symphony.
