Furry friends
The corner of Bellaire Boulevard and Newcastle Drive recently transformed into a furry frenzy, when Bellaire United Methodist Church hosted its ninth annual “Blessing of the Animals” while Evelyn’s Park hosted “Evelyn’s BARK.” The event began with an opening prayer, homily and group blessing by the pastors. Afterwards, attendees could take their pets to receive an individual blessing from one of the pastors. Nine pet-rescue centers were onsite with some of their adoptable animals. Across the street at Evelyn’s Park, pets mingled and pet owners checked out booths run by service organizations. Pictured are (from left) pastor Seann Duffin, Patti Osburn, Steve Smith, Phebe Chen and pastor Trey Burns at the Blessing of the Animals. See more photos from these events by Pooja Salhotra here.
