Chicory, age 4

Hello! My name is Chicory – like the deep, rich grain in Cajun coffee. My owners are Honi and Glen Boudreaux, who have deep roots in Lake Charles, Louisiana. And, you guessed it – I’m a duck and game bird retriever. I love water, cold days and wide open spaces. We go to our farm in Washington County every chance we get because our owners have a free-range meat farm there. I love to help with the grass-fed animals. I also run, swim and practice retrieving, as hunting season is here. I take my owners on long walks each day here in West University, but I prefer the freedom of the fields. I’m also a gentle and loving pet to my owners’ grandchildren. Labradors love kids! I may seem big, but I’m gentle. I hope to meet you along the streets of our city!
