The 21st Annual Laura Lee Blanton Community Spirit Award Dinner, supporting the Houston Hospice Program, took place at River Oaks Country Club with more than 260 supporters in attendance. Chairs Vivie and Chris O’Sullivan were thrilled that the evening raised over $275,000. Nina Wickman received the Laura Lee Blanton Community Spirit Award; Wickman and her late husband are responsible for one of the most successful capital campaigns for Hospice. Eddy Blanton, whose mother the award is named in honor of, presented the crystal award to Wickman. Melanie Lawson of ABC13 emceed, and social worker Kathy Mayo spoke.
