Celebrating philanthropy

More than 900 filled the Hilton Americas-Houston for the Annual National Philanthropy Day Luncheon. Phillips 66 served as honorary corporate chair, and philanthropists Phoebe and Bobby Tudor were honorary chairs. Luncheon chair Amy S. Lampi with Theatre Under The Stars and co-chair Kate Yadan with Teen and Family Services were applauded by the crowd. Gina Gaston of ABC Channel 13 served as emcee. A standing ovation greeted Kathrine McGovern as the award recipient for the John P. McGovern Foundation Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation. The crowd came to its feet again for Lynn Wyatt as she received the Maurice Hirsch Award for Philanthropy. The funds raised, over $260,000, will be used by the AFP – Greater Houston Chapter to advance philanthropy in Houston. Pictured are Jim and Beverly Postl.
