Love in La La land

Sheila Newar and Michael Wernick went on their first date in August 2016 at La Scala, an Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills. They immediately hit it off. After dinner, Michael invited Sheila to his friend’s birthday party and Sheila met all of Michael’s closest friends that night. Sheila and Michael spent every weekend together, switching off Newport Beach, where Sheila lived, and Los Angeles, where Michael lived. Sheila, a graduate of St. John’s School, moved to Los Angeles in 2018. This winter, Michael proposed to Sheila on the beach in Santa Barbara. He had flown to Washington, D.C to design an engagement ring with his family and then to Houston to ask Sheila’s father for his blessing, while keeping it a surprise for Sheila. The two are excited to plan their big day in Houston. Parents Adam Newar and Evi Marnoy and Shelley and Susan Wernick are thrilled.
