Shooting for the stars
Second Baptist School students were part of an out-of-this-world experience connecting with NASA astronaut Christina Koch aboard the International Space Station. Lower, middle and upper school students were joined by the chairman of the Subcommittee on Aviation and Space, Sen. Ted Cruz, SBS Class of ’88, and given the opportunity to ask Koch questions about her record-breaking time in space. NASA brought the ISS to life with virtual-reality goggles and a space suit. Pictured, with a space suit, are third graders Danny Harvey and Grayson Lewis trying out the VR goggles.
