Many of St. Thomas’ Episcopal’s high school students leave campus after school, and seniors during lunch, to go eat food with their friends in Meyerland Plaza. During midterms and finals week, all high school students have the privilege of leaving campus during lunch to relax and eat before their next exam. Meyerland Plaza offers many restaurants that are within walking distance but these are the most popular for STE students:
#5 Firehouse Subs
With its close proximity to St. Thomas’, Firehouse Subs is a popular choice and perfect if you need to return to the campus and study or return for an extracurricular activity. It is fast, casual, and definitely an STE favorite.
#4 Smoothie King
Many students enjoy going to Smoothie King’s drive-through before school to get a delicious, protein-rich smoothie.
#3 Starbucks
Starbucks is perfect for either a morning or afternoon caffienated treat. It is also a great place to study before a big test or quiz. The two Starbucks in Meyerland Plaza are both a very popular choice.
#2 The Teahouse
The Teahouse is also a very popular choice and is always crowded with STE students after school. It offers a variety of teas and coffees for a boost of energy after a long day at school. Not only does The Teahouse offer great drinks, especially bubble tea, it also is a great place to study or even play board games with friends.
#1 Chick-fil-A
Chick-fil-A is the most popular choice. It offers both proximity and many options of both food and drink. Annabeth Slagle, a freshman at St. Thomas’ Episcopal, enjoys going with her friends afterschool, because of its convenience. “I love it mainly because the lines are super short and the food is amazing,” Annabeth commented.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet study spot or a quick bite to eat, Meyerland Plaza offers a variety of options for whatever you’re looking for.
