Lila and Ethan's big day

Lila Chanin and Ethan Shear married at Hotel ZaZa Museum District. The ceremony took place in a tent located over the hotel pool and then the celebration moved to the ballroom. Lila and Ethan started dating in 2015 after connecting on a dating app; they first met in elementary school at Robert M. Beren Academy. Parents Belinda Denn and Scott Chanin and Marcia and Jonathan Shear recalled some play dates back when the two were kids, but Lila and Ethan didn’t remember. A few weeks before the wedding, Marcia discovered their class photo from second grade – it turns out Lila and Ethan were sitting next to each other. The newlyweds honeymooned in French Polynesia. Lila, a graduate of Bellaire High School, is a senior financial analyst at Houston Methodist and will receive her MBA from Rice University this spring. Ethan, a graduate of St. John’s School and Texas A&M, is a reservoir engineer.
