For more than 20 years, Bellaire resident Peggy Reynolds has organized a National Day of Prayer gathering at the gazebo in Bellaire. She decorates the gazebo with patriotic colors and invites neighbors to come together, hear from Bellaire police officers and firefighters, and pray together. This year, May 7, the community will not gather in person due to the pandemic. She is encouraging neighbors to say a prayer with a friend or family members over the phone or video chat, go out for a prayer walk in the neighborhood, or just take a few moments at home to mark the day.
