Drive-by wedding

Holly Reichert and Zach Beery had planned to start their new chapter as wife and husband with a big wedding with family and friends from all over the world, followed by a European honeymoon to watch the Euro 2020 soccer championship. Since the coronavirus cancelled all of those plans, Holly and Zach rain-checked the big wedding until 2021 and decided to have a small wedding in the Reicherts’ front yard. Guests included immediate family and a few friends, who toasted to the newlyweds from a safe distance. Tom Koch officiated the ceremony, as his daughter Emily is Holly’s best friend and maid of honor. Friends were invited to drive by to honk and wave and shout congratulations from their cars. Holly and Zach, who originally met at Pershing Middle School and became friends during their freshman year at Bellaire High School, enjoyed a “mini moon” in Galveston after tying the knot.
