Joanna (“JoJo”) Pastore (pictured), 14, takes a shot on the driveway during an at-home basketball practice. After playing basketball and soccer for Lanier Middle School, she has found ways to stay active, work on her skills and have fun this summer. As the second of 5 children, JoJo is surrounded by siblings trying to entertain themselves during the summer months. The other Pastore kids, Sophie, Richie, Eva and Raquel, have all enjoyed driveway basketball, jumping rope and playing badminton. When athletic seasons resume, the Pastores will be busy playing a variety of sports: basketball, soccer, lacrosse, cheer, dance and gymnastics. JoJo has recently started playing with her Dash club-soccer team, and she can’t wait for a fresh start with sports this coming school year.
