Spreading the love
Six local high school students teamed up to raise funds for a cause during their last few weeks of summer. Led by Nico Del Frate, a freshman at St. John’s School, the team included his sister Eva Del Frate, a senior at Episcopal High School, and friends Nick Horton, a freshman at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory; Jessie Horton, a sophomore at Episcopal; Braden Riley, a freshman at Shadow Creek; and Will Young, a freshman at Episcopal. The boys originally met at Presbyterian School. They decided to create a GoFundMe page called “Houston Kids Spread the Love & Feed H-Town Heroes” to raise money to deliver meals from restaurants to Houston healthcare workers and fire responders. Their page raised nearly $2,000. The students were inspired by the successful Spread the Love & Feed fundraiser initiated by family friends of the Del Frates who live in New York City.
