The Katy Prairie Conservancy raised more than $150,000 to continue the preservation of coastal prairie in southeast Texas at its 2020 Bash. Co-chairs were Nicole and Sam Hix and Rene and Mauri Pineda. Emcee was Johnny Bravo. Keynote speaker was Dr. J. Drew Lanham, a birder, naturalist and hunter-conservationist and author of The Home Place: Memoirs of a Colored Man’s Love Affair with Nature. Attendees, such as Virginia Watt Chandler (pictured), enjoyed the event from home while sipping on the Bash’s signature cocktail, The Green Heron.
