My name is Noor. I am 5 years old, and I have a baby sister who is 5 months old. I love her. I like reading to her, playing with her, and being in kindergarten at home with her. When I am not playing with my sister, I like to play with my dollhouse. I also like to have pretend tea parties and birthday parties with my dolls. I like to color and to paint. I like to watch Elena of Avalor. I like to have movie nights with my daddy. And I like to do my lessons with my mommy (who also helps me write things down).
During this coronavirus, I am learning from home. Most days I like it, but I sometimes miss my friends and playing on the playground. I am in kindergarten in Ms. Rota’s class at Mark Twain. We write in our journal every day. I like to write, and I like to draw. I like writing about my sister, about my family, my friends. Here are two poems I have written.
“My Sister”
My sister is a cutie pie; She loves to look at the sky
She has the biggest smile; That goes on for a mile
She likes to eat, poop, and play; The whole day
My sister loves to look at me; And she loves me
“I am me”
Dear Mommy, I am not you; Dear Daddy, I am not you; Hello sister, I am not you; Hello brother, I am not you; …because I am me.
I know you are looking out for me; And you want good things for me; But can I tell you a secret? I am a strong, kind, brave, and independent little kid because you have shown me how to be a strong, kind, brave, and independent; So I may do things differently; But just trust me; …And I will not let you down!
