Tacky sweaters and good books
The Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation's Young Professionals Group hosted their 7th Annual Tacky Sweater party and holiday community book distribution. Group members Eleni McGee, Jeff Carnrite, Victoria Villarreal, Aubrey Leatherman, Joselyn Tego, Grace Gosnell, and Clair Hopper bundled and distributed 1,500 books to pre-kindergarten through second-grade students at San Francisco Nativity Academy of Houston. Along with the books, children received backpacks filled with snacks, face masks, puzzles, and holiday-activity books. The books and treats were purchased using proceeds from the Young Professionals Group’s 2019 annual Jungle Book Gala, and backpacks were provided by The Carnrite Group. Guests at the event included Jeff Carnrite, Megan Carrasco, Grace Gosnell, Andrea Henery, Rebecca Hoffman, Clair Hopper, Aubrey Leatherman, Monica Lunsford, Melissa McDaniel, Eleni McGee, Michael Perkins, Rome Street, Joselyn Tego, Victoria Villarreal, and Andrew Wilson.
