GOATs soccer team

The Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association (SBMSA) GOATs soccer team (pictured) won the 10U American League championship. They chose their team name (GOAT: Greatest of All Time) as a motivational tool to help them strive to do their best during each game. After a 9-1 record in the regular season, the GOATs faced the X team in the championship game. They had played against the X team earlier in the regular season and during the playoffs, and wrapped up the final game with an 8-2 victory. Top scorers Parker Basarowich and Alex Magid each scored three goals. The champion GOATs are (top row, from left) coaches Forrest Green and Scott Goforth; (middle row, from left) Blake Wegmann, Christian Arndt, Sutton Goforth, Charlie Green, Daniel Bennett, and Sawyer Weekley; (bottom row, from left) Nathan Chong, Owen Moorad, Nicolas Hernandez, Alex Magid, and Parker Basarowich.
