Stars on the field
The West University Softball Association (WUSA) 8U Stars team (pictured) kicked off the spring 2021 season with an exciting game against the Galaxy team. While the final score didn’t go their way, it was a great way to get started. The league was not able to have the traditional opening-day celebration, but the teams were excited to be back on the field after a disappointing 2020 season that was cut short. This year’s calendar will have a full season of games. Several of the Stars players are new to softball this year, and they join other girls who each played for different teams last year. They look forward to getting to know each other better and playing together as a team. The 8U Stars are (top row, from left) Arlene Natkin, Baileigh Davis, Caroline Irwin, Catherine Lerch, coach Courtney Lerch, (bottom row, from left) Karis Lim, Taylor Wells, Lyla Davis, and Emily Tschen. Not pictured: Kinsey Kerlin and Eleanor Ngo.
