More than 250 supporters gathered to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Virtuosi and honor the original founders, Andrzej Grabiec and Franz Anton Krager, along with longtime supporters Carolyn Vandiver and Cathy and Earle Steinberg. The University of Houston’s Moores School of Music was given special recognition for its music-mentoring partnership. The gala included performances by the orchestra featuring a medley of favorites. Event chairs were (pictured, from left) Cheryl Byington and Beth Wolff, and honorary chairs were Philamena Baird and Monzer Hourani. Emceed by Ernie Manouse, the gala raised more than $180,000 to support opportunities for young musicians. Virtuosi was formed to create a pre-professional climate and performance opportunities for Houston’s most dedicated young musicians. See virtuosiofhouston.org.
