The Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation’s Young Professionals Group hosted its Storybook Gala kickoff at Tootsies. Following the theme of this year’s gala, “An Evening in Wonderland,” the store was transformed into a whimsical Alice in Wonderland setting, including a butterfly-adorned photo wall, a Mad Hatter, and tunes from DJ Paul. Co-chairs Jeff Carnrite and Joselyn Tego joined the gala host committee to celebrate the kickoff of the 6th annual Storybook Gala. VIP guests included Houston Texans players Whitney Mercilus and Justin Reid. The annual black-tie gala will be held Nov. 12 at Hotel ZaZa in the Museum District.
