A speedy season
It was an impressive season for the St. Vincent de Paul cross-country team (pictured). After eight meets, the runners finished with the Greater Houston Catholic Athletic Association (GHCAA) district championship meet held at Spring Creek Park in Tomball. Middle-school cross-country athletes compete in a 1.5-mile run, and the girls’ team finished in second place, while the boys’ team finished in first place. The fastest St. Vincent de Paul boy was Nico Curtin, with a time of 8:49; sixth-grade girl Ceci Bass’ 9:29 time earned her the fastest finish among all of the girls throughout the GHCAA. The team is (from left) Aurora Riley, Kristi Curtin, Sarah Ortegon, Gabriela Guerrero, Ceci Bass, Morgan Horan, Reagan Mull, Gigi Bass, coach Marion Jones, Patrick Leif, Miles Eddlemon, Henry Benoit, Alexander Montoya, Barrett Fowler, and Nico Curtin.
