The 2021 Lifelong Leaders Luncheon benefiting Amigos de las Américas drew 200 guests, with 175 in-person at Hotel ZaZa Museum District and 25 joining virtually via Zoom. The keynote speaker was author Dr. Stefanie K. Johnson, who delivered an upbeat speech on including diverse perspectives in organizations. Student speaker Meah talked about her three-week Amigos program in Nicaragua. Sara Nathan, president and CEO, recognized two high schools, one in Brazil and North Houston Early College High School in Houston. These schools partnered with Amigos in a virtual program that taught students to approach local issues through a global framework. Event co-chairs were Alma Del Toro and Clint Ford, Laura and Steve Otillar, and Samantha Schnee and Michael Hafner. The host committee included Cathy Arnold, Jill and Jason Assir, Amy Becker, Ed and Suky Cazier, Claudia Christin and Robert Lee, Steve and Allyson Cook, Ann Crowley, David and Viviana Denechaud, Joanne Houck and Tim Singletary, Linda and Phil Johnson, Mariela Poleo, Brenda Rios Brombacher and Michael Brombacher, Tim and Michelle Ruch, Kendall and Carlos Sole, and the Amigos Houston Chapter.
