Westbury Soccer Club players Nico Rimer (pictured, left) and Benjamin Rimer (right), along with coach Santiago Nacinovich, felt like they met royalty when the Chelsea Football Club (FC) arrived with their championship trophy. Chelsea FC, the reigning champions of the European Champions League (the biggest prize for soccer in Europe), visited Westbury and facilitated a training session for the players and coaches. Chelsea FC was on a multi-city U.S. tour to show off their new trophy to supporters and included a stop in Houston to visit and recognize Westbury as the oldest grassroots soccer club in the city. Chelsea FC coaches worked with a select group of Westbury players, focusing on individual skills and small-sided games, and provided a Q&A session for the Westbury coaches to offer pointers and recommendations for future play. Posing for photos with the giant trophy was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and it was a day that Westbury will never forget.
