Pecan Bowl winners
The Wilchester Men’s Club hosted its 11th annual Pecan Bowl, its largest fundraiser and biggest event of the year. This year, the North team (pictured) won their first championship, defeating the East in the semi-finals and beating the defending champ South 12-6 in the championship game. North Alumni coaches are Doug Goodson, Jeff Gentil, and David Lavern. Members of Team North are Andrew Atkinson, Andy Ramirez, Blaine Larson, Blake Werner, Brandon Kurtz, Bret McCarroll, Cade White, Cory Baten, Cyrus Bahrami, Daniel Glazner, David Smalling, Elliot Wall, George Castillo, Grant Gooding, Greg Davis, Hugh Ramsey, Jon Stephenson, Justin Benecke, Justin Moore, Mat Tilley, Matthew Cooper, Nate Penland, Scott Davis, Scott Rappaport, Sean Biedermann, Todd Porter, and Walker Agnew. The four Pecan Bowl teams are split up geographically, so men play with neighbors who live closest to them. All games are played at Westchester. The club, which presented $20,000 to the Spring Branch Education Foundation and another $20,000 to Family Point Resources, is a nonprofit for men living in the Wilchester, Wilchester West, Nottingham, and Nottingham West subdivisions. The organization hosts six happy hours, four fundraising events, and two service projects each year to support causes in West Memorial and Spring Branch.
