Rodeo art at Roberts
RodeoHouston’s School Art Program gives students, pre-K through 12th grade, the opportunity to compete, earn scholarships, travel to summer workshops, and have their artwork displayed in the Hayloft Gallery during the livestock show. This fall, 26 Roberts Elementary students spent time in Ms. Marina Jenkins’ art room every morning before school to work on their rodeo art pieces. At the elementary level, there were almost 1,000 entries, but only 10 submissions could be chosen to move on to NRG Center. Of the 10 elementary pieces chosen from around the district, four were Roberts students. The 14 remaining students who were judged all received finalist ribbons. Pictured are Ms. Jenkins’ art students, ranging from second to fifth grade, and their art pieces are below.
