Bo’s Place annual Hearts of Hope luncheon celebrated being “Together Again” in person. More than 450 supporters gathered at The Westin Galleria Houston. Special guest speaker was Ann Christensen, the first woman to chair the English Department at the University of Houston and a former Bo’s Place support group participant, who shared her experience after the death of her husband. Ann read some pieces from her memoir-in-progress, which explores grief, widowed motherhood, aging, and gratitude. Event chairs Daisy and John White, and their daughters and sons-in-law Niccole White Greeley and Christopher Greeley and Jacqueline White Arribas and Alfredo Arribas joined to support the efforts and were thrilled with the over $425,000 raised from the luncheon. Sue Smith and Craig Brown were the Heart of Gold Presenting Sponsors for the luncheon. Rebecca and Christyn Taylor received the Robin Bush Award. The award is given in memory of Robin Bush, daughter of President George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush, who were early supporters of Bo’s Place. A nonprofit, free-of-charge bereavement center, Bo’s Place offers grief support services for children, families, and adults.
