A surprise engagement

Megan Orgel (pictured, left) was surprised when her boyfriend of seven years, Kase Pappert (pictured, right), proposed. While on a Sunday-morning walk along their favorite trail at The Houstonian, Kase popped the question. Megan says the moment was the first time she was truly surprised in her life. After Megan said “yes” and caught her breath, the newly engaged couple returned home to a surprise gathering of their closest family and friends, including parents Jan and Michael Pappert and Robin and Billy Orgel. Megan and Kase met through mutual friends during their sophomore year at the University of Texas. Kase, a Houston native, attended The Emery/Weiner School. Megan grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, where the couple plans to marry in February 2023.
