Meg, Jan, and Kate Bres were among the 400 guests at the 10th annual Stand Up for Brain Cancer gala benefiting The Broach Foundation and featuring comedian Mike Birbiglia. Named in honor of James Broach, The Broach Foundation for Brain Cancer Research raises funds and awareness for adult brain-cancer research and has raised more than 6 million dollars. James lost his battle against brain cancer in 2013, but prior to his death he knew he wanted to make an impact on the challenging and under-funded disease. “James was truly an inspiration to all those who knew him. Though he knew the research would not come in time to help him, he wanted to find a way to help others. Research requires resources, and he knew the faster we can fund promising novel research projects, the faster we will find a cure for this disease,” said Jamie Broach Byrd.
