Judge Jerel S. Twyman, Sandy Twyman, Mayor Andrew Friedberg, Judge Lisa Wesely, and Gigi White (pictured, from left) got “Back to Mother Nature” at the Nature Discovery Center’s annual Twilight Gala. Led by chairs Neil and Deepa Verma, a host committee of 12 couples, and the NDC’s board of directors, Twilight raised more than $85,000 to support the Center and its nature education programs. As guests passed through the historic brick gates at Russ Pitman Park, they entered a space transformed by floating lights, glittering candelabra, wildflowers on every table, lantern-lit trails, and gardens exploding with spring color. Longtime ABC anchor and NDC neighbor Tom Koch emceed the evening. He had the chance to share a special moment with his friend and the park’s namesake, Russ Pitman, who celebrated his 86th birthday surrounded by friends at the gala.
