Happy 80th birthday, Buddy

Lou Rosenfeld (pictured, on left) pulled off the perfect surprise for her husband, Dr. Buddy Rosenfeld (right). Around 100 friends and family members gathered at Evelyn’s Park and waited for their arrival to shout “surprise!” and celebrate Buddy’s 80th birthday. Lou had him convinced they were meeting some friends for dinner, and he was stunned to find the crowd waiting for him. His favorite part of the party was seeing so many of their friends who they didn’t realize also knew each other. Guests Christine and Dr. James Chuong ran into their son’s former preschool teacher Becky Abell. They had not seen each other in about 20 years, but instantly recognized each other and enjoyed reconnecting. When it was time to blow out the candles, Buddy found 80 of them spread between two different cakes. One cake was chocolate-chocolate-chocolate, and the other was blueberry so the healthy people could at least say they were eating fruit. Buddy indulged in both options.
