Southampton garden-tour chairs Mary Howe Hawkins and Sarah Balinskas (pictured, from left) coordinated a spring display of six neighborhood gardens, featuring a variety of native and pollinator plants, spring bulbs, annuals, flowering trees, and shrubs. The morning of the tour was cold, windy, and rainy, but the rain ended by noon, and guests enjoyed a tour of Southampton’s best gardens. The garden tour, underwritten by Debbie and Mark Gregg, is one of the events for the Southampton Centennial Celebration. After a summer break, the events resume in September, ending with a birthday celebration in November at Brockman Hall for Opera on the Rice University campus.
