Maks, age 8

Hi everyone! My name is Maks. Originally from Lufkin, I am an AKC Conformation Champion show dog, who retired a few years ago to live a quiet life in Memorial.  Some of you may also know me as the “spokes-canine” from the “Support the Friends” fundraiser for the Spring Branch – Memorial Library last November. But lately, I’ve stepped out of the limelight to spend my time teaching my grandkids, Banksy and James, the ways of the world. During Covid, I adopted a stray from a kill shelter, who I named Perdy. Perdy and I spend our afternoons curled up on the couch reading books and taking naps. My favorite meal is when my parents mix green beans into my dog food. I don’t really play with toys; those are for my grandkids. I do not like to go on walks, but I will sit in your lap all day long. My favorite thing to do is give hugs.
