Rise and thrive
Kelly and Drew Scoggins (pictured), franchise owners of Bitty & Beau’s Coffee in West U were special guests at The Center for Pursuit’s annual luncheon, Rise and Thrive, at River Oaks Country Club. Bitty & Beau’s is a North Carolina-based coffee shop company that employs people with disabilities, and the Scoggins hired six employees for their Rice Village location from the Center’s employment-services program. ABC13 weekend sports anchor Adam Winkler served as emcee and led the program while supporters enjoyed quiche and coffee. The luncheon, chaired by Victoria Beard and Lance Reynolds, raised $196,000 to support The Center’s programs.
