The national anthem was a family event at a recent Kinkaid School football game. Siblings Lauren and Will McMackin took their places at the microphones and led the stadium in singing the Star-Spangled Banner. Lauren and Will have been involved in musical theater and choir for the last six years. In addition to being active members of the Kinkaid fine arts community, Lauren and Will are both student athletes. Will plays varsity football and Lauren is a varsity cheerleader, and after singing the national anthem they both took their places on the field. Will completed 12 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, and one fumble recovery. Lauren cheered on the team, and they both celebrated the win over visiting team Archbishop Shaw High School from New Orleans.
