Sharing Sue’s love for butterflies
The residents of Vivian Street (pictured) created a beautiful butterfly garden to honor the memory of their beloved neighbor Sue Dowling. Sue loved butterflies, plants, and children, and she took great care of all of those around her. One of neighbor Meghan Lutschg’s favorite memories is Sue teaching everyone about butterfly gardens and bringing hungry caterpillars to feast on milkweed in her yard. After Sue’s passing, neighbors wanted to find a way to honor her legacy, and a butterfly garden on Vivian Street was the perfect tribute. The garden includes decorative rocks painted with positive and inspiring messages created by neighbors Emily Rappaport, Liat Rappaport, Emma Meherali, Rhett Ashlin, Reid Ashlin, Amar Allada, and Sophia Nwoye. Sue’s husband, Jerry, along with friends and neighbors, is enjoying the garden and the opportunity to share the love and knowledge of butterflies that was so important to Sue.
