Shannon Gaden (pictured) ran her first Boston Marathon. The 29-year-old completed the historic course in an impressive 2:46:09, finishing 39th among 10,928 women. She beat her personal best by more than five minutes and amazingly still had enough energy to wrap up with a 5:48 final mile. Running has always been part of Shannon’s life, as she ran cross country and track at Pin Oak Middle School and St. Agnes Academy. Her earliest competition days were at the Bellaire Trolley Run while she was a student at Condit Elementary. Her father and self-proclaimed “has-been runner” Tom Gaden says he is super proud of his little girl.
