Surprise wedding

Fred Buckwold and Irene Pearlman (pictured) made a surprise announcement at Fred’s 75th birthday party: They were recently married! After discovering the logistics of coordinating a large wedding were more extensive than they expected, the couple opted for a small ceremony at Congregation Beth Yeshurun, officiated by Rabbi David Rosen, followed by dinner at Eddie V’s. A few weeks later, when guests arrived at the birthday party, the couple announced their big news with a blessing from Rabbi Rosen and a special dessert. Irene and Fred have known each other for decades and began dating about five years ago. The newlyweds enjoyed a honeymoon cruise including a trip to Amsterdam before returning home to celebrate Fred’s birthday and share their news with friends.
