School history made

A group of hardworking students achieved a big milestone. After an exciting season on the golf course, the Trafton Academy golf team won the Greater Houston Athletic Conference (GHAC) Golf Championship. This accomplishment was even sweeter as it was the first golf championship in the school’s history. With the encouragement of the team’s coach, Amy Gillespie, each team member sharpened their skills throughout the season and consistently produced impressive results. Jack Van Valen was awarded the overall tournament individual winner out of 75 participants. Congratulations to this group of young men. Tryouts for the next golf season will begin in February. Coach Gillespie is a lifelong golfer who recently qualified in the distinguished, invite-only USGA 62nd U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur in September.
