Roger, age 8

Hello neighbors, my name is Roger, also known as Mr. Rogers, because I’m loved by everyone in the neighborhood. I moved to Bellaire from Kingwood a little over a year ago. When you meet me for the first time, you’ll likely ask my mom, “What kind of dog is he?” That’s because you might not have seen a Keeshond before! My ancestors originated from the Netherlands, where they were loyal companions and excellent watchdogs on barges. I’ve inherited their wonderful traits – I’m alert, intelligent, affectionate, and friendly. I had an absolute blast during the January snowstorm! Thanks to my thick, double-layered fluffy coat, I stayed warm and cozy while playing in the snow. You might spot me on one of my four daily walks around the neighborhood. Feel free to come and say hello, whether you’re out alone or with your dog(s). I get along with everyone – humans and dogs alike – and I love getting pats. See you around!
