100 years young

Family members from around the country gathered at the Tucker home in Bellaire to celebrate matriarch Roslyn Unger’s 100th birthday. Loved ones were dressed in red, the birthday girl’s favorite color, to honor Roslyn. She was born in Los Angeles and raised in Miami Beach, Florida where she became the director of the Jewish National Fund (JNF) and met dignitaries like Golda Meir and David Ben-Gurion while on visits to Israel as a JNF spokesperson. Roslyn and her husband Arthur retired in Houston, and she spent more than 20 years as a member of Congregation Beth Yeshurun and volunteer with St. Luke’s Hospital. These days, the mom-of-three, grandma-of-five, and great-grandma-of-five keeps busy with knitting, reading, playing cards, and performing kazoo with the “Off Our Rockers” ensemble.
