Party on Laurel Street

Neighbors (pictured) gathered for a festive block party on Laurel Street, organized by John and Carol Klug. About half of the residents have lived on the block for more than 30 years, and other half are new neighbors with young children. The block party was the perfect occasion for “new” and “old” to get together, find playmates for their young children, and make new friends. Neighbors Betsy and Gary Adair catered the event with everyone’s favorite foods from Los Tios. In addition to Tex-Mex, some partygoers brought their favorite foods, including dumplings, chicken biryani, brownies, and cookies. Others brought pop-up tables, chairs, flowers, and tablecloths. The group of neighbors included: Judge Jerel and Sandy Twyman, Justin Lee, Anna Shao, Sue Tsai, Dale and Maggie Farrar, Kent Cantrell, Sharon Simmons and family, Kai and Yaxi Xai, Margaret and Greg Slutz and family, Keith McAuliffe, Lisa Paikowski and family, Vinod Pillai, Soumya Kurup and family, John and Carol Klug, Teresa and Chao Chiung Lee, May Sim and family, and Karen and Richard Ethun,
