Friends, Meatballs, and Marinara at STE

The annual Spaghetti Supper at STE kicked off the school year with a night filled with food, games, and laughter. Families gathered in the cafeteria and gym to enjoy plates of spaghetti, visit with friends, and take part in activities that celebrated the spirit of community. Long tables filled as parents and students shared a meal side by side. Kids darted between tables, while parents caught up after the summer. Teachers and staff also joined in, helping to serve food and greeting families as they arrived. Conversations and the sounds of excitement filled the cafeteria.
For many, the Spaghetti Supper represents a tradition that stretches across generations. “The Spaghetti Supper is one of my favorite STE traditions! I love that it’s such a long-standing tradition at STE. One that my husband enjoyed as a student, and now that our daughter is a student here, she gets to experience it too,” said Communications Manager Amanda Boisaubin. “It’s such a special way to bring our community together and have fun as a school family.”
The night included more than just food. Students lined up for games that awarded house points, giving them a chance to show off school spirit and involve their parents in the fun. “One thing I liked was the opportunity to advertise house points and do games and get parents involved and show people what it means to be a community,” said senior Saqib Memon. “Community is a family, not just a collection of kids.”
Games weren’t the only highlight. The balloon artist was a hit, especially with students eager to show off balloon lightsabers and animals. Snow cones provided a sweet way to cool down after running between activities, and Mr. Monks, the DJ, kept the atmosphere lively with music that had both kids and parents dancing. “Balloon man was amazing, the lightsaber balloons were cool, and I wanted to learn about how to make them. Snow cones were fantastic. Mr. Monks, the DJ, was phenomenal,” said Dean of Students Chris Horton.
Parents and staff commented on how the event's timing made it particularly meaningful. “I like how it happens at the beginning of the year and the parents are getting back together and everybody is optimistic about the school year, and it has a great atmosphere,” said mathematics teacher Bret Hervat.
For others, the evening was about reconnecting with old friends while making new ones. “I love to see all the families getting together and having fun; it’s events like these that build our STE community,” said Registrar Ann Seitz. Freshman Anna Claire Linbeck agreed, saying, “I like it because it’s a time we sit and eat together and have fun, all the friends that leave come back, and it’s nice to see them.”
The Spaghetti Supper once again reminded everyone what makes STE special. It’s more than a meal. It’s a chance to gather as a community, celebrate traditions, and start the year on a positive note.
