Rising golf star

St. John’s School sixth grader Connor Liang (pictured) delivered a standout performance at the 2025 Southern Texas PGA Junior Championship, winning the Little Linksters Boys 11-12 Division with a tournament total of 69, three under par. Liang fired steady rounds of 34-35 to secure the championship by four strokes. The event, held at The Woodlands Country Club, crowned champions from across the region and marked the largest field in tournament history with 299 junior golfers. Players qualified by earning points through dozens of tournaments hosted throughout the summer in Austin, Beaumont, College Station, Corpus Christi, Houston, the Rio Grande Valley, and San Antonio. With the victory, Liang earned a spot on the Southern Texas PGA team competing in the Texas Junior Cup.
