The Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association Junior Varsity Tackle Aggies (pictured, with the Aggies cheer squad), capped their season exactly as they hoped, under the lights at Tully Stadium, hoisting the trophy after a gritty 14–12 win over the Oilers. The team, made up of fifth-grade boys from various schools, closed out a memorable 9–1 season. Team members included Aaron McWashington, Andrew Fraga, Calvin Strait, Cameron Rector, Charles Elwood, Fisher Davidson, Grant Kendall, Grayson Bredthauer, Jamie Smith, Jeremy Gallon, John Robinson, Josh Ball, Julian Vaz, Kerr Friedman, Pearson Danna, Preston Williams, Rory Moore, and William Ramsey. The boys were led by head coach Ben Bredthauer and assistant coaches Bill Robinson, Will Bredthauer, Andy Ball, and Brian Strait. The offense was electric behind quarterback Grayson Bredthauer, who led the team in both rushing and passing yards. In the title game, playmaker Pearson Danna accounted for all 14 Aggie points. Cameron Rector anchored the receiving corps, while Andrew Fraga, John Robinson, and Rory Moore were forces in the trenches, controlling both sides of the ball from the first snap. “This was the most focused group of young men I have ever coached,” coach Ben said.
