Brian and Michelle Dean, Paul Mansfield, and Jennifer and Todd Litton (pictured, from left) attended the Community Spirit Award Dinner benefiting Houston Hospice. The event, chaired by the Deans with the Littons serving as honorary chairs, was held at River Oaks Country Club and raised $230,000 for Houston Hospice’s efforts to provide quality, end-of-life care for families in Southeast Texas. Dr. Paul Mansfield, surgical oncologist at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, was honored with the 27th annual Community Spirit Award. He spoke to the crowd about the importance of humor and laughter, even in the face of illness. “Humor is a big part of what makes us human,” Dr. Mansfield said.
