The Shannon family pulled it off! A surprise 70th birthday party for Jerry Shannon was a big hit. The kids hatched a plan to get their dad out of the house so they could set up tables, chairs, lights, caterers, margarita machines, and caricature artists. There happened to be a Texas A&M football game the afternoon of the party, so Jerry left home to watch at a friend’s house while the covert plans were underway. Jerry, a fourth-generation Texan, Westchester High School track and football athlete, and collegiate defensive end for the Aggies, arrived back home in the evening where the guests were waiting. After tracking Jerry on the Life360 app, family and friends knew when to be silent as the birthday boy walked in and wife Amy asked him to take a look at something in the backyard. Peeking out from the second-floor balcony, Jerry was surprised to find a party full of guests in the yard below. Pictured are the Shannons, (from left) Jerry, Greg, David, Lisa, Steven, and Amy.
