Headed to Austin

Lamar High School student Lawson Behan (pictured, third from left, with family members Kyle Behan, Amy Behan, and Jack Behan) signed to play baseball for the University of Texas at Austin. He chose to play for the Longhorns among many other D1 offers including Rice University, Duke University, University of Alabama, Texas State University, University of Texas at San Antonio, University of Houston, and Baylor University. Lawson helped lead the nationally ranked Houston Wildcatters to a 43-14 record over the last two summers sporting a combined .400 Avg with 1.200OPS, and he was named District Newcomer of the Year as a freshman for Lamar High School baseball and District MVP in both his sophomore and junior seasons. He also played in the 2022 Senior League Baseball World Series USA Finals representing West University. Lawson began his baseball career with 10 seasons playing for West University Little League.
