Oh my mah-jongg!

Pam Ellis, Diana Dively, Lynda Newman, Fredell Belasco, and Claire Haut (pictured, from left) were the big winners at the Christian Community Service Center’s (CCSC) mah-jongg event. More than 80 mah-jongg enthusiasts enjoyed a day of tournament play benefiting CCSC’s efforts to support those living in poverty through food pantries and workforce development. Lana Peralta-Boutwell, a member of both CCSC and Bellaire United Methodist Church (one of the 42 churches working in coalition with CCSC), organized the day of friendly competition at the Evelyn’s Park Event Center. Mah-jongg players enjoyed festive play and the opportunity to introduce new church members to CCSC’s outreach programs.
