Debra Cohen, Courtney Cohen Garson, and Steven Cohen (pictured, from left) celebrated at the annual JFS LiVE! Gala benefiting Alexander Jewish Family Service (Alexander JFS). Held at the Hilton Americas-Houston, this year’s event, Reaching New Heights, welcomed more than 1,200 guests and was chaired by Vicki and Andy Bursten and Sunni and Gary Markowitz. Fredda Friedlander and Julie Gilbert served as the auction chairs; Phil Cohen served as the finance chair; and Sandi Helfman Wolf served as the Paddles Up chair. Funds raised from the gala support Alexander JFS programming that assists more than 20,000 Houston-area residents with a range of services including counseling, employment and disability services, senior adult support, chaplaincy, mental health services and case management. Reaching New Heights presented the Joan Alexander Chesed Award to Marcy Margolis and the Shirley and Allen Becker Leadership Award to Courtney Cohen Garson.
